The members of the Comité de travail national sur les pères et la périnatalité have developed a statement of principles in order to clearly state the values, motivations, and principles that bring them together, as well as the proposals they endorse in order to ensure that fatherhood and co-parenthood are fully integrated into the services offerings and public policies concerning the perinatal period.
The statement was made public at the Su-Père Conference on February 16, and hundreds of stakeholders and managers from the community, the health and social services network, and university circles have already signed the statement.
We now ask mothers, fathers, all parents, to read and sign the statement so as to send a strong message to government decision-makers that it is time for fathers and co-parents to be fully recognized and supported during the perinatal period in order to offer them the best conditions under which to take care of their children.
